How do I go about altering a boat neckline to a strapless one?
I have got this beautiful Black Dress.The top half is velvet which is a boat neck but I really want to alter it to a boned Strapless Top.Thanks for any suggestions
Well, you should probably get it done professionally of you don't know how to sew.
But if you're intent on doing it, just cut off the straps and then hem it at the top. Well, that would probably only work if the top is somewhat tight. If it's not, it would need to be taken in a little bit so it can stay up. Or you could put an elastic in where you hem it.
