Yeah, you could go with some flats or kitten heels. I wouldn't make yourself taller than him, not for his sake but yours, and heels at prom sucked. I took them off within the hour.
But you could show off your long legs! I wouldn't do a mini, maybe thigh-length. Just remember the rule - cleavage or legs, NOT both!
