How should I tell my family Thanksgiving won't be held at my house this year?
For years our whole family has gathered at my house for Thanksgiving, my side of the family and my husband's (which are both huge). It's fun and all, but there's upwards of 20 people in the house and they are here for a week and there is constant fighting. I'm not sure I would like to continue the tradition this year because it is just too much. How do I tell them?
I realize Thanksgiving is far away but I've been thinking about it.
You have every right to say that your not up for having at your house this year. Let your family know thats its a lot of work and you'd think it would be great if you could rotate and have it at another members house instead. Its ok to draw healthy boundaries, especially in families where they tend to take advantage because your related. You have to think about yourself too and remember..if they love you they will understand!
