What is the most efficient way to stretch a dress?
How can I stretch out this dress? It has a shell made of 70% cotton and 30% silk and the lining is 100% polyester.
This may not work, but give it a try.
Soak it in some warm water in the bath, and use like a cup of hair conditioner, use just enough water to soak it, don't fill the bath or anything. A big laundry sink works well for this too.
Then you literally will pull on it after about 30 mins of it soaking.
For some fabrics, this will work, for some it won't, if it doesn't no harm done really.
I've washed silk in the machine before, you can do it if your washer has a gentle cycle, then wash with cold water and some Woolite to get the conditioner out and dry on low heat or timed air setting, or air dry if your dryer doesn't have those settings. It'll be good as new =o)
