What do I wear to a Cocktail Party for someone's formal engagement ceremony?
I have to wear formal clothing, but I'm 17. I'm kind of plump (not very, so I can carry off most stuff.. ) ..but Im REALLY short..like just above 5 feet tall.. what would be appropriate? I m going to be wearing black heels with it.. so any suggestions for a dress?

it depends who is going to be there and how old the fiance/fiancee are. to be on the safe side, i would suggest a conservatively cut dress (ie. ends at slightly above the knee or longer, not too low cut, no halter necks and generally not that revealing). black is always a safe colour, but it doesn't matter too much, as long as the colour's not too loud.
