What is the general Tea Party stance on free trade?
I have heard totally contradictory things.
On one hand, I have heard Tea Party folks calling for the end of NAFTA, and other protectionist measures.
However, a lot of Tea Partiers are also economic libertarians, and one of the core tenets of economic libertarianism is free trade (after all, tariffs are nothing more than "Big Government" taxing your economic activity).
How can this split be resolved? What is the "official" Tea Party position on free trade?
There is no general Tea Party so there is no stance, platform or agenda.
