I am in a wedding this October and our dresses are yellow and white silk searsucker from JCrew...What shoe?
would look good with this... We don't even have an idea for colors. It's on the beach, so we can get away with a summery style. The dress is really summery for October, but hey it's the brides choice. Any suggestions on colors or styles?

It's not actually ON THE BEACH, it's across the street. We will be taking photos on the beach however...Also a lot of you said white, but it's after labor day...What are your thoughts on that?
First and foremost (even though the dress is expensive) - it is something you can wear again...so do thank your bride for that.
I would normally suggest white heels (but it is after labor day) and the fashion diva's do not suggest wearing white after Sept. (obviously most people who responded here, are not aware of the fashion rules...I wouldn't take their advice if I was you! - and someone actually suggested flip flops? AT A WEDDING? I have heard it all!!!).
I would suggest wearing metallic gold thong or metallic bronze sandals/ shoes/ flats etc.
You could match it up with similar toned earrings or any other jewelry your bride "approves" of.
